“A-Lert Roof Systems is a preferred supplier for the City of Houston on the Fire Station flat roof-to-Standing Seam retro-fit projects. As a result of this reputation, Baseline was excited to team up with A-Lert on several projects, including the renovation of Fire Station # 13.
Along with 2015 being an unusually wet year, this particular project provided some unique situations, unlike some of our other projects, since the entire station was being re-designed and renovated.
A-Lert determined the structural needs and worked with Baseline and the customer closely to work out a variety of situations. A seemingly simple thing like “what color white for the required UV rating” caused brief frustration, but they readily assisted with options that would satisfy the architect, local requirements, and the City’s project management.

“We had been experiencing roofing issues for some time. Our roofs were rubber and flat. Not a good combination. The aerial views of our roofs looked like you had patched a rubber inner tube in numerous places. The cost of the patching was adding up quickly. We started exploring some options to replace some of our roofs. We knew we wanted a pitched metal roof. Of course, the expense of replacing a roof was tremendously high. Tearing off the old roof and replacing it with a new one was not going to be an easy task. A-Lert’s solution was fascinating to us because we could forgo tearing off the old roof while gaining a metal pitched roof at a very reasonable price. Our first project included replacing a large portion of our high school roof. The results were great and now we have a roof that is very aesthetically pleasing. We were so pleased with the roof replacement at the high school that we decided to continue to use A-Lert for our Junior High as well.
